PHC RIS warmly welcomes five new staff to the team.
Dr Petra Bywood, Research Manager
Petra leads the research and evaluation activities within the PHC RIS team, and contributes to the effective dissemination of information and research findings to PHC researchers, policy advisors and Divisions of General Practice. Petra has a PhD in Neuroscience and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health.
Dr Sandy Muecke, Research Fellow
Sandy is part of the PHC RIS research team that produces RESEARCH ROUNDup, conducts applied research and provides rapid responses to the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. Sandy has a PhD in Critical Care Medicine, Graduate Diploma Nursing (Critical Care) and a Bachelor of Nursing (Hons).
Amanda Carne, Research Associate
Amanda is the latest addition to the PHC RIS research team. Amanda has a Behavioural Science degree and a background in leisure/recreation management, and is currently undertaking a Graduate Certificate in Public Health Research and Evaluation. Prior to joining PHC RIS, Amanda worked in a variety of research support roles within Flinders University.
Bel Lunnay, Communications Officer
Bel is responsible for the weekly PHC RIS eBulletin and coordinates the production of several PHC RIS products including Snapshot, PHC RIS infoBytes and Fact Sheets. Bel has held research and project-based positions in WA and SA. Bel holds a Health Sciences (Health Promotion and Education) degree and is currently undertaking a PhD in the Discipline of Public Health, Flinders University exploring the social context of alcohol consumption among young Australian females.
Fae Heaselgrave, Communications Officer
Fae is the writing coordinator for PHC RIS publications such as the bi-monthly newsletter, PHC RIS infonet, and the PHC RIS annual report. In addition, Fae is the media liaison officer for PHC RIS and chairs the public relations and marketing committee. She has a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Communication and has worked as a communications practitioner in health for a number of years, both in the UK and in Adelaide.
