As part of their commitment to support future leaders in health care, the National Health and Medical Research Council offer NICS Fellowships through the National Institute of Clinical Studies.
These Fellowships offer a unique opportunity to health professionals who share a passion for ensuring the best available evidence is practiced. Applicants identify an area within their own discipline where evidence exists, but is not being applied to routine care.
NICS Fellowships represent an investment in people as well as projects. To date, the mentoring, support and half time stipend provided by the Fellowships has enabled 28 individuals to undertake implementation projects across areas as diverse as cancer, blood clot prevention, mental health, osteoporosis and stroke management.
NICS recently celebrated the graduation of six NICS Fellows and two NICS scholars:

Applications for the NICS 2009 Fellowships closed recently and again attracted a wide scope of projects and individuals that confirm the value of this unique program. NICS will announce the successful applicants early 2009.
