Jess Tungthamthiti, PHC RIS
Divisions of General Practice and State Based Organisations (SBO) have been using the Division Information Online System (DIOS), administered by PHC RIS, to complete and submit their annual plan, six-monthly report, and twelve-monthly report to the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA). Although it is not yet compulsory to use DIOS for Planning and Reporting, the majority of them have chosen to do their plans and reports online. Evidence of this is in the number of online 2007-08 six-monthly reports submitted to DoHA by Divisions and SBOs. At the time of writing, 109 of the expected 126 reports were submitted via DIOS. Seven of the remaining 17 reports have a progress higher than 90%, which indicate that they are more likely to submit their reports via DIOS rather than the Word document.
Staff turnover has always been an issue when it comes to Planning and Reporting. The PHC RIS website has resources available to guide new staff in the right direction. The DIOS Help page is a great place to start. It has several useful resources to assist Divisions and SBOs to complete their plans and reports <http://www.phcris.org.au/dios/help>. It is highly recommended that new DIOS users read and understand the content on the Help page, especially under Frequently Asked Questions and Resources .
Some Divisions and SBOs have changed their names recently. If your email addresses have changed, it is important that you inform PHC RIS of the change so that we can update your email addresses in DIOS. Email address is treated as a log in name, therefore; DIOS doesn't allow you to update email addresses. It is also important that your nominated 'Administrator' is current as DIOS announcements are sent to the Administrator.
