Simon Patterson & David Branford, PHC RIS
Divisions and SBOs have been using a new online system (developed by PHC RIS) to enter their 2007-08 Annual Plans, a requirement of the Department of Health and Ageing under the National Quality and Performance System (NQPS) reporting framework. Background information about this new online system can be found in PHC RIS infonet (Dec 2006) (www.phcris.org.au/publications/infonet/2006/dec/div.php).
Very shortly, in August of 2007, this same system will be used by the Divisions and SBOs to enter their 2006-07 12 Month Report information.
A further development in late 2007 will allow this reporting information to be fed back to stakeholders via a web based reporting system using ‘self service' principles where users will be able to select what information they want in what categories (the Display Component). That is, different levels of feedback will soon be provided to the Divisions Network members and also more widely to policy makers, researchers and other stakeholders.
To gain an understanding of the NQPS reporting framework and therefore the range of information that may be available, you can visit the Planning & Reporting Support pages (www.phcris.org.au/divisions/reporting/). There you will find the list of national indicators, document downloads and links to other relevant websites.
If you want to be one of the first people notified when PHC RIS has launched the Display Component simply drop me an email and I will let you know when you can access this important information.
