GP & PHC 2007: Working together

     Sheri Millar, PHC RIS

23–25 May 2007
Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour

The year is well underway and with only three months remaining, we are steadily moving towards the 2007 GP & PHC Research Conference, in our wonderful cosmopolitan city of Sydney. Located on the stunning shores of Darling Harbour, delegates will be enthused, energised and encouraged by working together toward a better future. Therefore as the early bird registration draws to a close, I encourage you all to work together and register now. Do not miss out on this renowned national and international primary health care event.

True to GP & PHC Research Conference fashion, we have an exciting yet delegate-friendly program lined up for you, which is ideal for learning, sharing and networking.

Six pre-conference workshops will be on offer, an excellent way to kick off the conference before it is officially opened after lunch by the Honourable Tony Abbott.

We have the pleasure to announce, along with International speakers Professors Nicky Britten and Chris van Weel, Norman Swan will be facilitating a panel of experts in the APHCRI plenary to be held on Wednesday afternoon, 23rd May. AAAGP will be holding their general meeting, hosting a dinner on Wednesday evening, and chairing the AAAGP plenary, featuring the coveted distinguished paper presentations.

Plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, poster sessions, and meal breaks will also enthuse, energise and encourage all who attend. As for the social events, the Welcome reception on Tuesday 22nd May, held onsite at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, will capture the ambiance of Darling Harbour and set the ideal atmosphere for the three day conference. On the evening of Thursday 24th May, we will all be swept away for a few hours and go Cruising together around Sydney Harbour for the conference dinner. This beautifully appointed vessel caters for all. The multiple deck design provides a range of options, from quieter areas for those who like to network whilst sailing calm waters to a sky deck which lends itself to live music, entertainment and dancing. Something for everyone!
