PHC RIS in 2006: what we achieved |

PHC RIS team
In 2006, PHC RIS informed, influenced and enhanced primary health care practice, policy and research by generating, managing and sharing timely relevant information.
We generated
- eBulletin: 990 subscribers (plus Department of Health and Ageing intranet)
- Annual Survey of Divisions (ASD): over 700 bound copies of Making the connections requested
- Primary Health Care Research Impact Project providing timely advice about the value of collaboration and effective relationships
- PHCRED: analysis identifying the importance of career pathways, networks and funding for researcher development
- PHCRED strategy promoted extensively
- Two FOCUS on… bulletins to promote enhanced practice and research transfer.
We managed
- PHC RIS website: functionality continually updated and enhanced
- Division Benchmarking Tool, Division Mapping Tool and Division Profiles: developed to provide broader access to information about the Divisions Network
- Customised purpose built web interface for collecting ASD data was successfully implemented
- National Quality and Performance System (NQPS) Division and SBO Plans and Reports: commenced development of web platform
- PHCRED Strategy: information on our website kept up-to-date and available
- Communication Strategy for PHCRED Phase 2 developed in collaboration with the Department
- Roadmap of Australian primary health care Research (ROAR) database expanded and gained popularity with researchers
- Increased subscriptions and circulation of all PHC RIS products
- Contributed to peer reviewed journals, conferences and newsletters.
We shared
- GP & PHC Research Conference Optimising Impact convened in Perth, 5-7 July 2006, attended by over 300 delegates with 192 abstract submissions received
- GP & PHC Research Conference Working Together : details finalised for Sydney, 23-25 May 2007
- Individually tailored feedback (from ASD data) provided to each Division indicating activities they engaged in and highlighting differences between Divisions
- PHC RIS infonet and eBulletin promoting PHCRED activities, achievements and events
- PHC RIS staff continued in their roles as knowledge brokers
- Continued to collaborate, engage and learn from stakeholders (and others).
