Division A & B projects

The Performance and Development Funding Pool 2006 was established to build capacity and to recognise performance across the Divisions network. The funding was divided into two separate pools, with a total value of $1.6 million in 2006. Pool A, with a total of $1.4 million, was for projects to build capacity in the network, and Pool B, with a total of $200,000, was to build capacity in individual Divisions or SBOs.

The focus of capacity building projects included:

  • Governance
  • Using Population health information
  • Program evaluation
  • Workforce
  • Chronic disease and more.

Applications were assessed on merit, using criteria established during the expression of interest process. The Review Implementation Committee (RIC) made the final decisions after receiving recommendations from a committee set up for the purpose and the Department delegate.

Projects funded under Pool A are:

  • GPC Quality in General Practice (GP Connections)
  • Enhancing the Patient Experience (Brisbane South DGP)
  • A Proposal for the Development of Standard Project Planning & Evaluation to Specific to Australia's Divisions of General Practice (Illawarra DGP)
  • Pathways to Wellness in the Aboriginal Community at Point Pearce (Yorke Peninsula DGP)
  • Regional Chronic Disease Workshops (Alliance of NSW Divisions)
  • Regional Resource Management: Scoping & Model Development (Perth & Hills DGP)
  • Sharing the Knowledge - Common Capabilities of Divisions (Adelaide Hills DGP)
  • Increased Capacity of Indigenous Access to Remote Mental Health Services Through EPC Case Conferencing (Top End DGP)
  • Connecting Mums, Babies, Family & Culture: Social & Emotional Wellbeing for Mothers & Babies (General Practice & Primary Health Care Northern Territory)
  • Governance Leads to Performance Outcomes (Queensland DGP)
  • Establishing a GP population Health Data Management Program in Central Highlands Division of General Practice (Central Highlands DGP)
  • A Division Health Atlas: The Development of Population Health Information Systems & Related Workforce Planning in General Practice (Adelaide Western GP Network)
  • Governance Reporting: Achieving National Standards in Annual Reporting to Members (General Practice Divisions Victoria)
  • Division Information Systems (DIS) Training & KPI Development (GP Partners)
  • Aboriginal Health - Addressing CDM Through Collaboration Between GPs& Aboriginal Health Workers (General Practice Divisions Victoria)
  • Working to Increase Rate of Identification of Tasmanian Patients of ATSI Origin (Consortia led by Tasmanian General Practice Divisions)
