Rural medical college invites researchers to participate in its biennial Scientific Forum
Australia's leading educational conference specifically in the area of primary health care in rural and remote settings will be conducted by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) in Adelaide on 16-19 November 2006.
ACRRM is the peak professional organisation for Rural and Remote Medicine (RRM) education and training in Australia and leads the world in the development of this discipline. ACRRM members are committed to providing the highest quality of medical care to patients in regional, rural and remote communities throughout Australia and come together every two years to present academic and clinical papers, workshops and poster presentations at its Scientific Forum.
This year's conference is titled Practising Rural and Remote Medicine - Moving Forward and is open to researchers, medical and allied health practitioners, and academics to make presentations or to attend and hear the latest research, discussion and ideas on the practical implementation of health care in rural settings.
ACRRM leads the way for rural medical practitioners in a number of ways particularly in the area of online medical services. Its state of the art Rural and Remote Medical Education Online web site [www.rrmeo.com] provides rural doctors with a comprehensive list of educational activities being held by CME and regional training providers, Divisions, and other colleges, and a running update of activities already attended, helping rural doctors to maintain their skills in a variety of medical areas.
The college also provides its members with medical information on a handheld PDA device. The PDA Clinical Guidelines allows for quick and easy access to a range of common topics, which is ideal for the modern, mobile rural doctor. Truly, ACRRM is moving forward.
