5-7 July 2006, Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre
The Primary Health Care and Research and Information Service (PHC RIS) in collaboration with the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, Australian Association for Academic General Practice (AAAGP) and Australian Primary Health Care Research Institute (APHCRI, based at ANU), are designing the 2006 GP & PHC Research Conference, Optimising Impact . The program will cater to GP & PHC researchers, project officers, GP and allied health practitioners, academics, Divisions of General Practice staff, policy makers, consumers and students, and provides opportunities to network, form collaborations, share ideas and debate the many issues raised by speakers and delegates. 5-7 July 2006, Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre
Three dynamic, international keynote speakers, spanning over three continents, are presenting at the 2006 GP & PHC Research Conference. These dynamic speakers will facilitate the rigorous and robust discussions synonymous with GP & PHC research conferences. From the USA - Professor Larry A Green, MD Senior Scholar in Residence at The Robert Graham Centre in Washington, DC (sponsored by APHCRI); from the UK - Professor Martin Roland, Director of NPCRDC and Professor of General Practice at Manchester University; and from the Netherlands - Professor Andre Knottnerus, Professor, Department of General Practice, Maastricht University.
As the ideal segue from the 2005 Conference, Getting research right for policy and practice, the 2006 Conference will facilitate moving forward in this journey. The Conference aims to address the impact of the 'right' research? How do 'We' measure the impact research has had on policy making and practice delivery? What has changed? What are the benefits? How have these benefits improved the 'state of health' in this country? And, how do 'We' achieve the optimum impact from research necessary to achieve these goals?
The call for abstracts is now open on our website, http://www.phcris.org.au. The closing date will be Friday 10 March. We urge those who wish to submit an abstract, to do so now. All abstracts addressing the Conference theme Optimising Impact are welcome.
