Division Mapping Tool

Ann-Louise Hordacre & Simon Patterson, PHC RIS

Making the Connections. Report of the 2004-05 Annual Survey of Divisions of General Practice has been available on-line since August and is now available in hardcopy.

To complement this report and to share local and state information about Divisions, PHC RIS has developed a number of web resources. The Division Benchmarking Tool helps to identify Divisions with similar demographic characteristics. Division Fast Facts provides easy access to interesting pieces of information about Divisions.

The Division Mapping Tool (www.phcris.org.au/products/asd/mapping) provides a visual map of Australia showing which Divisions have reported programs or activities in specific areas of interest. You can choose the data you wish to graph. You may, for example be interested in which Divisions are conducting bowel cancer screening programs, dementia care programs for aged care (see map), or activities to improve access to GPs (ie. after hours programs). The Division Mapping Tool is in the early stages of development and we would be interested in learning how you use it and how we can improve it to make it more useful for you.
