Rolling survey response, Jan 2007

In 2006, PHC RIS improved and updated the resources contained in the website to ensure timely relevant information was made available to our stakeholders.

Achievements included:

  • The addition of new PHC RIS publications, fact sheets, and flyer:
    • Report of the 2004-2005 Annual Survey of Divisions of General Practice (summary sheet)
    • editions of PHC RIS eBulletin , FOCUS on... and PHC RIS infonet
    • 2005 Annual Report
    • Conference works: getting the most out of conferences
    • Tips for sharing the 'Know-how'
    • Oral presentations: preparation and delivery
    • Power point presentations
    • eBulletin
    • Making the connections: Report of the 2004-2005 Annual Survey of Divisions of General Practice
    • GP & PHC Research Conference 2007.
  • The provision of GP & PHC Research Conference registration, program, abstracts, photos and sponsorship details.
  • The proceedings of the conference, made available on-line immediately after the conference, including PDFs of 180 paper presentations.
  • The creation of Division Profile pages to provide a portal to Divisions data from various sections of the PHC RIS website ie. contact details, Annual Reports, Division Key Characteristics.
  • Publishing the 2004-05 ASD report, Divisions: Making the connections, made available in PDF on the website: both in one large PDF and smaller PDFs of chapters to enhance user's download options. Tables and graphs were also made available in a separate on-line format.
  • Developing the Division Benchmarking Tool, developed to help Divisions identify other Divisions with the same demographic characteristics as themselves.
  • Developing the Division Mapping Tool, a visual map of Australia for viewing specific Division activities from data collected as part of the 2004-05 ASD.
  • Collecting and displaying key dates for upcoming events collected and displayed in the PHC RIS Events Diary.
  • Listing of the published PHC RIS peer-reviewed articles including links to the full papers.

While the website continued to enhance the public image of PHC RIS with comprehensive and current information, it also continued to perform reliably and was easily accessible to all stakeholders. Stakeholders continue to provide positive feedback on the PHC RIS website - one comment, in May from a senior member of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing was that it was a 'treasure trove'.
