Roadmap Of Australian primary health care Research (ROAR)

[It's a] central point for finding an expert. We know where to go.
- PHCRED researcher, Rolling Survey Response January 2007

The Roadmap Of Australian primary health care Research (ROAR) is an on-line database of information about Australian primary health care research projects, organisations, funding and researchers. ROAR was developed to raise awareness of primary health care research, reduce duplication of research effort, and facilitate collaborative research partnerships.

The focus of ROAR is on nationally funded research projects and profiles of Australian primary health care researchers. Content has been largely sourced manually through negotiation with the NHMRC, RACGP, the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, and personal invitations sent to researchers who had been awarded research funding. Content was also submitted to PHC RIS via electronic forms available from ROAR's homepage on the PHC RIS website.

By the end of 2006, ROAR had increased in all areas. The table below shows how many records were listed in each section of ROAR at December 2006.
