PHC RIS' purpose is to inform, influence and enhance primary health care practice, policy and research by generating, managing and sharing timely relevant information. In 2006 PHC RIS achieved its objectives and outcomes, by enabling improved access to data and information, enhanced sharing of information and knowledge, leading to a better understanding of primary health care.

- GP & PHC Research Conference Optimising impact convened in Perth, 5-7 July 2006 was attended by over 300 delegates with 192 abstract submissions received
