Progress of the 2010-11 Annual Survey of Divisions (ASD)
The Primary Health Care Research and Information Service (PHC RIS) conducts the Annual Survey of Divisions (ASD) on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. As part of their contractual obligations, all Divisions of General Practice are required to complete the Survey which includes questions about their membership, activities (including population health) and infrastructure for the previous financial year. Consequently, the results provide a comprehensive overview of Divisions and summarise the broad range of activities that they undertake.
The deadline for completing the 2010-11 ASD was 30 September 2011.
The data collection and processing has commenced and the following resources will be updated and available in due course:
- Division and SBO Key Characteristics have been updated!

- PHC RIS provides tailored feedback to Divisions on their responses to the ASD, known as 'Individual Feedback'. This has had the effect of improving the quality and integrity of the data collected (as Divisions have the opportunity to provide corrections or changes), facilitating benchmarking and comparison with equivalent organisations.
- The final dataset will be summarised in the 2010-11 ASD Summary Data Report. The report will be made available to the public pending approval from the Department of Health and Ageing. Reports from previous years of the ASD are available.
