Divisions of General Practice have been funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing since 1992. They are local organisations that aim to unite GPs and increase their capacity to work cooperatively with other health providers. One of the key challenges that face Divisions is balancing local and national priorities. Locally, they must meet the expressed needs of their members and communities while nationally, it is necessary for Divisions to meet the requirements of their funding agreements with the Australian Government and an increasing number of other funding bodies.

Corrected version of Figure 8.E and Tables 8.9 and 10.1
Recent analysis of Divisions: the Network evolves. Report of the 2003-2004 Annual Survey of Divisions brought to our attention faults in the printed version. A change in the ordering of columns in Table 10.1 resulted in the inaccurate reporting of some figures. Also some data in Figure 8.E and Table 8.9 were incorrectly reported. Below are the links to the corrected versions of Figure 8.E and Tables 8.9 and 10.1 and the paragraphs relating to them. We apologise for these errors and invite you to contact us for further information on any matter which may be of interest to you.
