Student opportunities

KE Insights Workshop—Research Higher Degree students and Early Career Researchers

KE Insights Workshop is for Research Higher Degree students and Early Career Researchers who want their research to have an impact beyond publication. The workshop introduces the KE mindset and encourages HD students/ECRs to understand the value of their research as a resource. Participants will learn the benefits of cultivating an outward facing perspective beyond academic circles. In small group discussions they will scope their potential research users and identify strategies to engage with them from the outset to inform and strengthen their research directions. The workshop will present a selection of KE tools, resources, and strategies. See more KE workshops.

Assistant Chair for Concurrent Sessions

At this year’s conference Higher Degree Students (including Honours) are invited to participate as Assistant Chairs in concurrent sessions. The position would involve helping the Session Chair by ensuring that instructions, timers, bells and speaker profiles are available and assisting with time-keeping; and would provide students with the opportunity to meet with a more experienced researcher and gain insight into how to coordinate a conference session. Chairs will be matched to appropriate sessions according to their research interests as specified when registering
