This information has been assembled for use by Divisions of General Practice, however, these data sources are useful for others interested in primary health care and general practice. Please note that this is not a definitive list, if you know of other data sources that can be added please let us know.

Division and SBO Profiles
View current contact details for all Divisions of General Practice and State Based Organisations (SBOs), as well as links to their websites, submitted plans and reports and other related information. Now updated with 2006-07 data.

PHC RIS have developed a table to facilitate benchmarking, helping Divisions of General Practice to identify other Divisions with the same demographic characteristics. Now updated with 2006-07 data.

A spreadsheet of information collected as part of the Annual Survey of Divisions (ASD). Including data from 2002-03 to 2007-08 data.
View Mapping ToolDivisions Mapping Tool
This tool was been designed to help identify Divisions conducting similar programs and activities, and has recently been updated with 2006-07 data collected as part of the Annual Survey of Divisions.
Divisions Network ReportingDivisions Network Reporting: Data available from 1992-current
Links to all Division Annual Plans and Reports available under the Outcomes Based Funding (OBF) framework from 1999-2000 to 2004-2005; and under the National and Quality Performance System (NQPS).

There are a number of other sources of data and information that may be useful. Please note that most of this data is not readily available at Division level.

Division of General Practice Atlas, 2009
The most recently available source of population statistics at a Division level is available from the Public Health Information Development Unit (PHIDU). You can download a spreadsheet or view an interactive map with demographic, socioeconomic & health statistics

General practice activity in Australia 2008-09
This Australian Institute of Health and Welfare report presents results from the eleventh year of the BEACH program, a national study of general practice activity.

General Practice Statistics
This Department of Health and Ageing website contains GP statistics general practice by financial year, from 1995-96 to 2006-07.

Health status of South Australians
A comprehensive report containing Division-level information about the health status of South Australians is available from the Population Research and Outcome Studies (PROS) Unit in the SA Department of Health.

Medicare Australia
Links to a range of statistics. Including: General Practice Statistics Reports available through Medicare Australia can be used to produce MBS, PBS and PIP statistics at Division level

A compendium of Australian Health Data Resources was produced by Australian Primary Health Care Research Institute in 2005 and lists some primary health care resources.

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) - Free access to a range of ABS products and data. Including:

Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) - Access to a range of publications and data cubes. Including:

RRMA/Town search
Interested in knowing RRMA, ARIA, SLA or Division for an Australian town.

AGPN Network Directory provides a summary of information about Division Network members, including a list of the postcodes covered by each Division.
