Professor Larry Green will speak on the kinds of themes in the Future of Family Medicine project, particularly touching on some of the contested issues such as role substitution, new kinds of health workers, redefining the role of a GP/family physician etc, and balancing the medicine as a business with medicine as a public good tension. He will consider the policies being implemented in the USA addressing these questions and the place (if any) evidence has had in shaping these policies. How is it known that evidence did shape policy?
